Having to temporarily relocate for work can be pretty stressful, especially when you’re looking for temporary housing. You might worry that the new place isn’t going to feel like home or support the length of time you need to stay while staying within your budget. The answer in many cases is to look at the various national corporate housing companies that are out there, since they offer longer term stays in furnished apartments for rent. The issue then, becomes choosing the right one for you. Here are three things to think about.
1. What type of lease agreement are you looking for?
One of the first things you need to think about is the length of lease you’re going to need. Try as best you can to plot out exactly how long you’re going to need to stay in the rental and find a place that accommodates that. Once you do, start comparing rates among the companies that you have to option to stay at. Furthermore, don’t forget to ask your company if they’re willing to foot any part of the bill — it can’t hurt.
2. What amenities do you need?
Another thing you need to think about when you’re choosing between corporate housing rentals is what amenities you need. Remember that this is not a permanent situation so you can probably afford to be a little flexible with what you’re looking for, especially if it affects the price. Corporate housing rentals usually have cleaning services and laundry on site, but also check into whether or not pets are allowed and things like that.
3. Where is the ideal location?
Corporate housing rentals aren’t going to be on every street corner, so think about what the ideal location for your place would be. Then find rentals in the area and find one that is close to your place of work and think about services and businesses you want to be close to before committing to one.
