Going off on a business trip sounds like a pretty cool adventure to most people, but when it comes down to it, it can actually be a hassle that comes with a lot of stressful things you have to worry about. One of the most important is where you’re going to stay, especially for a longer term project or work assignment. Finding the right one depends on a few different factors, like whether or not your company is going to foot the bill, but it’s important to get an idea of your options. Here are three of the most common temporary housing options.
1. House Sharing
Sharing services is getting much easier these days with the rise of mobile technology, and finding housing is no exception. In some cases, you may be able to find someone renting a room temporarily or renting their apartment for a few months, or someone looking for a short term roommate. Either way, house sharing can be a good alternative for people also looking for some social interaction or a new experience during their stay.
2. Short Term Corporate Housing
Corporate housing is also a popular option for people who are on extended business trips for work. These are furnished rentals and are essentially like a hybrid apartment and hotel. These are short term rentals but are also furnished apartments with separate living, kitchen, and sleeping areas. Corporate housing also generally offers amenities like a laundry service, cleaning services, wireless internet access, and cable television.
3. Extended Stay Hotels
Another really common option for short term housing is extended stay hotels, which are pretty much exactly what they sound like. Depending on the hotel, these may be furnished rentals with a kitchenette or may just be a hotel room rented for a longer period of time. This option is usually better for shorter terms stays and may be more expensive than other options.
